Introduction


Adjectives adds information and describes a noun.


Prefix Ma-


FORM : ma- + concept

Adding ma to an abstract concept makes it an adjective.

Ma + Ganda (Beauty) - Beautiful.
Ma + Lakas (Strength) - Strong.
Ma + Itim (Black) - Dark.
Ma + Libog (Lust) - Perversion / Pervert.
Ma + Talas (Sharpness) - Sharp.
Ma + Sama (Evil / Bad) - Evil / Bad.
Ma + Linis (Cleanliness) - Clean.

Magandang babae. ~ Beautiful girl.

Plurality


FORM : ma- + CV + concept + noun

You can also indicate plurality by repeating the first syllable of an abstract concept. This in turn will make the succeeding noun plural.

Masasamang tao. ~ Evil persons.
Magagandang tanawin. ~ Beautiful sites.
